What to Expect

Kambo ceremonies are held in a safe, supportive space with experienced practitioners. After a short intake and intention-setting, small burns are made on the skin to apply the medicine. The effects are intense but short-lasting — typically 15–30 minutes — and may include purging, sweating, and emotional release.

What People Commonly Experience

  • Physical Detox: Release of toxins through purging, sweating, and urination
  • Increased Energy: A surge of vitality and clarity after the ceremony
  • Emotional Cleansing: Letting go of stored stress, fear, or emotional heaviness
  • Heightened Awareness: A sharper connection to your body and intuition
  • Immune Boost: Traditional use for strengthening the body’s natural defenses

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kambo made from?

Kambo is the secretion of the Amazonian giant monkey tree frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor). It’s collected respectfully and applied to small burns on the skin to activate its powerful cleansing effects.

Does Kambo make you vomit?

Yes, purging is a natural and expected part of the process. This may include vomiting, sweating, shaking, or other physical releases — all part of detoxing and clearing stuck energy.

How long does the ceremony last?

The peak effects of Kambo typically last 15–30 minutes, but we allow time for rest and integration afterward. Expect to be with us for about 1.5 to 2 hours total.

Is Kambo painful?

Kambo can be physically intense but is not usually described as painful. The application site may sting briefly, and the process is challenging — but short-lived and deeply rewarding.

Do I need to prepare before the ceremony?

Yes. We’ll ask you to fast for several hours beforehand and stay well-hydrated. You’ll receive full guidance before your ceremony to make sure you’re physically and emotionally ready.

Is it safe?

Yes — when administered by experienced practitioners with proper screening. We do not offer Kambo to anyone with heart conditions, low blood pressure, or certain medical concerns. Your safety comes first.
